Farewell DC!

It’s my last week in DC, and I couldn’t be feeling more bittersweet. I have had the absolute best time working at eMBeD and learning about the world of behavioral science. I’ve met some amazing people whose knowledge, experience, and career journeys are truly inspiring, and I hope to stay connected with them throughout my professional life.

This internship has challenged me in different ways, pushed me out of my comfort zone, and helped me overcome several fears. My confidence conducting more advanced statistical analysis has grown exponentially, and I am more self-assure of my ability to dive into terrains that I might not understand fully at the outset and to figure things out by myself.

Working at the World Bank has been a great insight into the breadth and depth of work they are engaging in across the globe. I have had the opportunity to meet and engage with people across teams who are actively engaged in the topics that are of deep interest to me. Learning from them about their projects has opened my horizons about the opportunities and spaces that exist for the areas that I am passionate about.

Spending the summer in DC has been a wonderful way to reaffirm my professional goals and what I am most passionate about. I’m going to miss the beautiful city and it’s vibrancy, and hope to be back soon! I am extremely grateful to the Women and Public Policy Program (WAPPP) for their support through this journey.
